Ground Pork Taco Bowl

We tried this one night for dinner and have put it into the regular rotation. We like to cook a lot with beef but here is an easy way to switch it up.  It's as easy as swapping out ground beef for ground pork. However, we do like to blend our own taco seasoning.
  • Prep Time:
  • Cook Time:
  • Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • (1 lb) Ground Pork
  • (1 Bell Pepper) Bell Pepper
  • (1/2 Onion) White Onion
  • (1 tbsp) Chili Powder
  • (2 tsp) Ground Cumin
  • (1 tsp) Smoked Paprika
  • (1 Tsp) Sea Salt
  • (1/2 Tsp) Garlic Powder
  • (1/2 Tsp) Onion Powder
  • (1/2 Tsp) Oregano
  • (Pinch Optional) Red Pepper Flakes

Directions

  1. Dice your bell pepper and onion finely and add them to a medium pan with the ground pork.
  2. Brown the mixture of pepper, onion, and ground pork. While the mixture is cooking down mix your seasoning blend.
  3. Mix the chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes if you choose.
  4. Lower the heat on the browned ground pork mixture and add the spice blend. You will need to add a 1/2 cup of water to the mixture to fully coat the browned ground pork with the seasoning blend. That's It! Now it's time to make your Bowl

We like to serve it over a bed of brown rice with lettuce, pepper jack cheese, and sour cream. Hope you enjoy!
